I am lookig to learn all I can about the large heart in race and performance horses. What lines carry it, how it is inheirted, and from whom. My stallion has a lot of large hearted individuals in his pedigree. I have a web site set up where I put all I learn on this and other subjects. All additional information can be credited to the rightful party.

My understanding (although it could be wrong) is something to do with the female line...

My limited understanding is this:

A stallion can only pass it to his daughters. A mare can pass it to either. A double copy mare will always pass it to her sons. A mare produced from a double copy mare and a stallion that carries it will always be a double copy mare.
