hello, what colors do you think we might have next year with a solid bay mare breed to a sorrel tobiano stud?the mare dam and sire were bay and sorrel solids. the sire parents were both black tobiano. thanks melissa

I think that your best chances are sorrel toby, solid sorrel or a bay toby. You have small chances of a black toby, black solid, depending on how the mare tests for a couple other genes.
Best chance I would go with a sorrel toby or a sorrel solid.

Without knowing the recessive/dominance of the Tobiano or the Agouti....these are your relative expectations of offspring: 18.8% - Chestnut 56.3% - Chestnut Tobiano 0.8% - Black 2.3% - Black Tobiano 5.5% - Bay 16.4% - Bay Tobiano
I did the configuration on Animal Genetics...it allows you to plug in the sire/dam characteristics and gives the expected combinations.
Melissa alot depends on if the Tobiano stallion is heterozygous or homozygous, if he is homozygous you will gets a bay tobi or a sorrel tobi or rarely a black tobi, if he is heterozygous the above formulation is correct and its a toss up on what you get. add sorrel tobiano in the mix of the above formulation too.
