Post-season pondering- Would it be possible to process semen this way: Following collection and evaluation you determine the correct volume of raw semen required for the dilution calculated. Aspirate this amount from the collection bag (after filtering) using the "shipping syringe". Then aspirate the needed amount of extender into this same syringe (with the raw semen) to finish with a shipping dose correctly extended and ready to pack. I think you would need to gently mix it. It would reduce handling, contamination etc. and speed up processing. I haven't tried it but I wonder if anyone does this. Would it damage the cells? The syring would have to be pre-warmed also before using. Any thoughts?
