We are standing our stallion at our vet's to save time. Our horse works best with Inra 96, so we furnished it since the vet didn't use it and told us he'd just use one of the Kenney extenders he had. We always use a Quick check to see concentration and then quickly calculate volumn x concent. x motility.
To my shock, the vet did no calculations on a very highly concentrated collection (+630M/ml)and simply mixed it with Inra 2:1 as per the directions on the package. He also did this on a collection that was out of range on the Quick Check. I have added points to my Quick Check to accomodate this incase it ever happens again. But, am I insane thinking the vet is not extending the semen correctly? Or is that Ok with Inra? I've been doing it myself after watching that!
