Maiden in heat via scan with 35mm follicle tight cervix

Postby LJS1+ » Thu Jun 01, 2017 9:17 am

I have 2 maidens this year that show heat via scan, good edema, follicle development normal. clean cultures but when bred their cervix was tighter than should be. Both very young (3 and 5) maidens. 3yo will tease well, 5yo only at ovulation. Both very nervous about being checked in any way back there so we have used dormosedan to relax them and make it a quiet and as comfortable for them as possible. Both are on their 2nd attempts and the only thing that seemed out of place was the tightness of cervix. Still open enough to breed but tighter than any other previous year maidens we have bred. I'm afraid this unrelaxed cervix somehow is why they fail to conceive. Should I be worried and is there anything that can be tried. Both were given HcG at 35+mm follicle the 1st time and sucromate the 2nd time both displayed normal edema.
