When do they start to show?

Postby mynutmeg » Sat Sep 15, 2012 3:18 pm

My mare is about 3 months gone and I was wondering when I can expect her to begin showing the pregnancy?
She's a maiden, kinda podgy cob who's not particulrly fit :-)

By "start to show" I assume you mean their belly getting larger. In my experience it happens in the last 3 monthsof pregnancy. Congratulations on your upcoming foal!

My mare will be 7 months in a week and she started showing at a little over 6 months but she has had babies before...started feeling the baby kick at the same time too..if you put your hand between the mares udder and leg after exercise or drinking water, you should be able to feel it! It's very cool! Good luck and congrats!
